Part of Obama's jobs plan rejected

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The Senate has just voted against a piece of President Obama's jobs legislation.

This portion is to raise taxes on millionaires to create or protect 400,000 jobs for teachers and firefighters.

It is what President Obama spoke about when he visited a firehouse in Chesterfield on Thursday.

Republicans unanimously opposed the measure on a 50/50 vote that fell well short of the 60 required to defeat the GOP filibuster.
