Cosby and Clover Hill battle to stay alive in Dominion District

Midlothian, VA (WWBT)- When Clover Hill High School split six years ago, it led to the creation of Cosby, and the Cavaliers and Titans will hit the field against each other on Friday night in a crucial Dominion District battle, and in our On the Sidelines Game of the Week.

Familiar faces will see each other on both sidelines and on the field, as several members of Cosby's coaching staff used to coach at Clover Hill, and many of the players grew up playing with or against each other.  Now they face off looking to stay alive in the Dominion District race.  Four teams enter Friday with just one district loss, meaning the winner will keep its hopes alive, while the loser will most likely see its chances disappear.  The Titans topped Manchester last Friday on the road, while the Cavaliers beat James River at home.

Clover Hill has a solid player in its corner in quarterback Joel Caleb.  Caleb is the number one recruit in the commonwealth and can do damage both on the ground and through the air.  Cosby knows it will need to contain Caleb in order to come away with a win.

Kickoff between the Titans and Cavaliers is set for 7:30 pm on Friday at Cosby High School.
