Update: All lanes open after Petersburg tractor-trailer crash

PETERSBURG, VA (WWBT) - A tractor-trailer crash in Petersburg remains under investigation Sunday afternoon.

The accident happened around 11:30 a.m. on exit 50, the ramp to Route 460 eastbound in Petersburg. The tractor-trailer ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned onto its right side.

The tractor-trailer was hauling logs, which spilled out onto the roads. The ramp from I-95 southbound to Route 460 eastbound remained closed for much of the afternoon, but was reopened by 4:45 p.m..

The 44-year-old driver was taken to Southside Regional Hospital with minor injuries. We've learned he's a resident of Dinwiddie, but a name has not been released.

No charges have been filed at this time since the investigation is ongoing. The Virginia State Police Motor Carrier Safety Unit is assisting with the investigation. At this time, no charges have been filed against the driver.
