Patient First helping to keep Halloween safe

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Patient First is working to take the trick out of trick-or-treating. This year, the clinics are offering free safety lights and safety tip cards to all children who visit.

You can even stop by a Patient First on Monday, October 31 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for free candy X-rays. All of these efforts not only help the kids, but parents as well.

"It gives them an added feeling of safety that we've looked at the X-rays and just kind of double-checked to make sure that there's no glass, no plastic, or metal there," said Dr. Michelle Headley.

Doctors say not everything shows up on an X-ray, so you still need to pay attention to what's in your child's candy bag.

The following Patient First Neighborhood Medical Centers will provide the free candy X-rays:

  • Carytown
    12 N. Thompson St.
  • Chester
    12101 S. Chalkley Rd.
  • Colonial Heights
    1260 Temple Ave.
