Charlotte, NC (WWBT)- For the second time this season, Virginia Union has fallen in two straight games, as the Panthers fell at Johnson C. Smith, 26-19, on Saturday. VUU sees its record fall to 4-4 with two games remaining, 2-3 in the CIAA.
Terrance Malone led the Panthers in the losing cause, rushing for 102 yards on eleven carries and a touchdown.
Virginia Union enters its bye week and will take the field for game action again on October 29, when the Panthers travel to Virginia State.
As for the Trojans, they were also unsuccessful on the road on Saturday, falling at Elizabeth City State, 28-7. The Trojans fall to 3-4, 2-3 in the CIAA.
VSU got on the board first when Jarred Battle hit Alan Anderson for a three yard touchdown pass in the first quarter, but that would be the last time the Trojans found the scoreboard. The Vikings rattled off 28 unanswered points over the next three quarters to run away with the victory.
Virginia State only managed 153 yards of total offense in the defeat. The Trojans have another road game next Saturday at Lincoln.
