Staunton police capture 2 work release prisoners

STAUNTON, Va. (AP) - Two inmates who escaped from a work release program didn't remain free for long.

Staunton police captured 33-year-old David Fitzgerald and 20-year-old Trevor Johnson on Thursday shortly after they failed to show up for work at the Perdue poultry plant in Bridgewater.

Police spokeswoman Lisa Klein tells media outlets that a car stolen in Bridgewater was recovered in Staunton.
