RICHMOND, VA (WWBT)-Fire crews are investigating a late night fire that broke out in south Richmond Wednesday night.
It happened in the 900 block of Barlen Drive, just off Warwick Road in Richmond's Southside.
There is a lot of damage to the home. Only one person was home when the fire broke out and she made it out with no injuries
Fire investigators say the fire started in the back of the house.
Richmond Fire Lieutenant Shawn Jones said fire crews rushed out there around 10:30 Wednesday night and got the fire under control in about 30 minutes.
Investigators will return to the home Thursday morning to try and figure out exactly how the fire started.
