Second former deputy charged in city jail sex scandal

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The second former sheriff's deputy has turned himself over to authorities in connection to the sex scandal at the Richmond City Jail.

Just after 9 a.m. Tuesday, Matthew Lyttle was charged with carnal knowledge of an inmate.

Lyttle and another former deputy, Mark Kelly, are accused of having sex with two female inmates. They were fired by Sheriff C.T. Woody in September after an internal investigation at the jail.
