RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The Labor Department announced Friday that more jobs were added in September, an improvement over the summer.
Employers added 103,000 jobs.
Wall Street reacted to the news by posting big gains. Stocks started Friday in positive territory.
The Labor Department also announced more jobs were added in earlier months than previously reported. Despite this, the unemployment rate is still flat at 9.1 percent.
President Obama will make a return trip through Virginia and North Carolina to sell his jobs bill to get more people back to work.
Job creation has hit a wall since May.The average is 40,000 a month.
