VCU students protesting against Wall Street

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT)-Thousands of protesters across the country are uniting against decisions Wall Street executives are making.

Many of these protestors are students and dozens here in Richmond have already signed up for a protest that's being held on the campus of VCU Friday.

Students say they don't have a particular name or classification but they have one goal that's getting support from the President: they're fighting back against decisions officials are making on Wall Street.

They say this rally will be a peaceful demonstration with a strong message they hope will reach financial executives in New York City.

They're worried if this greed continues on Wall Street they may not have a future, let alone a job when they enter the job force.

It all started from a plea on Facebook that's grown to at least 200 supporters already.

The rally starts at noon on Friday at the Compass at VCU and it is expected to last several hours.

There are a number of events planned under the "Occupy" banner including another Saturday October 15. The time for the next event has not yet been announced.
