CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Police responded to the scene of an accident involving a school bus Friday morning.
This happened just before 7:00 a.m. on Jeff Davis Highway at Melba Street.
Police tell us a bus traveling south on Jeff Davis was stopped, waiting to make a left turn, when it was rear-ended by a Mitsubishi Galant. The driver of that car has been identified as 24-year-old Ryan L. Edwards.
Edwards is being treated for critical, but non-life threatening injuries at VCU Medical Center. He's been charged with reckless driving.
One child was on the school bus, but we're told there were no injuries.
