RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Just like the Major Leagues, the Eastern League has its winter meetings during the offseason. It was by no coincidence that this year they held them in Richmond.
EL President Joe McEacharn said the meetings are made for the team presidents to meet and discuss what they can do to have a more successful 2012. He added that in just two years, the Squirrels have become models for the other teams to learn from, in terms of their community outreach and attracting fans to the ballpark. He added that Squirrels fans are "the best in the Eastern League".
McEacharn added that he's wished the Squirrels new ball park would have "been built yesterday". Both he and Parney, said they'll remain patient, and that "it will get done".
