HENRICO, VA (WWBT) – A Henrico man is facing charges of driving under the influence with his two children in the car.
Henrico Police say Stevon M. Nero, 26, of Sandpiper Drive, was arrested late Sunday night. Police say at approximately 11:15 p.m., a vehicle operated by Nero passed a police officer at a high rate of speed. After the vehicle was stopped, police say a strong odor of alcohol came from the vehicle. Nero's two children, ages 6 and 8, were observed in the vehicle, according to police.
Police arrest records indicate Nero's blood alcohol level to be between .08 and .14 percent. He was charged with two counts of child neglect, one count of DUI, and one count of refusing a breath test. Police say a search warrant was executed to obtain a blood sample.
