New airline security program starts Monday

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT)-Select travelers going through four U.S. Airports may find it easier to get through security, but there is a catch; they must volunteer more personal information to the government.

The U.S. Transportation Security Administration says a pilot program starting today tests a new approach for screening passengers.

The limited program will start at the major airports in Atlanta, Detroit, Dallas-Fort Worth and Miami.

The new program has the potential to improve the experience of travelers while allowing the agency to focus on higher-risk and unknown passengers.
