HOPEWELL, VA (WWBT) - A Hopewell burglary suspect is behind bars and police say it's all thanks to a neighborhood watch group.
Friday morning, a member of the Westwood Watchers called 911 after seeing 26-year-old Latif Al-Arad enter a home in the 500 block of Jefferson Avenue.
Police encountered Al-Arad upon arriving on scene, but he initially was able to escape capture. Police established a perimeter and were eventually able to capture him without incident.
Al-Arad is now behind held without bond at Riverside Regional Jail. He faces multiple charges, including burglary and attempted grand larceny.
