St. Chris's succumbs to Benedictine in 4 OT's

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A low-scoring game turned into a shootout at St. Christopher's Saturday afternoon.  In a battle between two top 5 teams in VIS Division 1, Benedictine outlasted the Saints 48-45 in quadruple overtime.

St. Chris held early leads of 7-0, and 14-7, and seemed to be suffocating the Cadet offense. But Benedictine, down 21-7 with just a few minutes left in the fourth quarter was able to tie the game in the second half, and then the teams just kept on going.

David Geary hit Charley Meyer at the end of the fourth overtime for the game-winning TD, as the Cadets improved to 4-1.

The Saints fell to 4-1.
