HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - It's a deadly crash that stunned people in our community and tonight, police want some help figuring out just what caused it.

Dr. Robert Heinz, the Dean of the School of Business and Engineering at J. Sergeant Reynolds, was killed in the wreck Wednesday.

The two-car crash at Lydell Drive and Parham Road also left another driver critically injured. She remains hospitalized tonight in serious condition.

Piece by piece, crash team experts have to put this accident back together.

They need to figure out how it happened. Who caused it and if any charges need to be filed.

More than 48 hours later, investigators are still at it and they're not just hoping witnesses come forward, they're now actually asking all witnesses to call them and help.

The accident happened about 4:40 p.m., during the heart of rush-hour, and many others drivers were on the road.

Police say Heinz was heading west on Parham Road when his car was struck at the intersection at Lydell Drive.

If you have information about this crash, call Henrico Police at 501-5000.
