Arrest made in Shockoe Bottom stabbing death

RICHMOND, VA - The Richmond Police Department has made an arrest in the city's latest homicide.

The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force today arrested William Christian Nelson, 36, no fixed address, and charged him with murder for stabbing to death Ramoan Cody Tolliver, 24, no fixed address, in the 100 block of Ambler Street early Sunday morning.

Nelson was taken into custody without incident this morning in Powhatan County. He had attempted to alter his appearance by shaving his beard, but when questioned by officers, admitted his identity.

Nelson stabbed Tolliver during an argument between the two men.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000. Citizens may also text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word "ITip" followed by your tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
