RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmond police are looking for an arsonist — suspected of setting three fires minutes from each other.
Two of the three fires were on Bowe Street. The other was just around the corner on West Leigh, not far from the VCU campus.
Police say they were all set within twenty minutes on Saturday, starting in the 900 block of Bowe Street at 6:45 a.m.
Two homes were set on fire, but it was caught in time and there is minimal damage.
Less than 15 minutes after the first two, police say another porch fire was intentionally set in the 1400 block of Leigh Street.
"Unfortunately, arsonists tend to have serial nature to them — once they start setting fires, they keep setting fires. Our concern is of the people in the Carver neighborhood be alert," said Richmond Police spokesman Gene Lepley.
The fires were quickly put out and no one was hurt.
