MECHANICSVILLE, VA (WWBT) - Dr. Ruth Latham is treating bacterial conjunctivitis. It presents itself with redness and itching of the infected eye.
This is very contagious. If you come anywhere near it, you need to wash your hands.
Do not wear contact lenses, share pillows or cosmetics.
See your primary care physician for antibiotic treatment. People with this infection should not return to work or school until they are treated with antibiotics for at least 24 hours.
