RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Director Steven Spielberg says he will delay the release of his new movie, but casting and production are still moving forward.
The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that the director will delay the launch of "Lincoln" until after the presidential election.
He tells the the paper he's doing that because, "I don't want it to become political fodder."
The director also says, just because it's being filmed in Richmond doesn't mean this will just be a battlefield movie.
Spielberg says he chose Richmond since many government buildings still look like how Washington was during the civil war.
