RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A vigil will be held for a teen gunned down over the weekend in Richmond.
On Sunday just before 6 p.m. Richmond police say 19-year-old Jamel Cobb was gunned down in the 2100 block of Newbourne Street.
Neighbors Cobb was walking home from playing basketball and was shot in the back.
Police do not believe the shooting is a random act.
Kareem Tillar, 21, turned himself in to police Tuesday. He was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon. He is now being questioned in Cobb's murder.
The vigil for Cobb will be held Wednesday evening at 5 p.m. at the corner of 25th and Newbourne Streets.
The family tells us that Cobb was heading to college soon, on a scholarship, to play baseball.
