Indictments in hazing death of Chesterfield Radford student

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Radford City Police are continuing the investigation into the death of Samuel Harris Mason, a Radford University Student who was found dead shortly before noon on October 15, 2010 at a residence on Fairfax Street. Mason was 20 years old and from Chesterfield County.

The Medical Examiners Office in Roanoke has listed "Acute Ethanol Poisoning" as the cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing and no additional information will be released.

A special grand jury handed down indictments in regards to Mason's death. The investigative grand jury heard testimony over three days and on Friday, September 9, 2011 returned indictments against seven members of the Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) Fraternity. 

Dustin Lee Moore, Ryan N. Lawson, Chadwick N. Evancho, Christopher Michael Pizzi, William Taylor Burke, Christopher Scott Cothren and Louis Hoskins Trible were each indicted for one count of Supplying Alcohol to Underage Person and one count of Hazing.

All charges are misdemeanors and all of them have been served.
