RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - There could soon be a new road that will connect the downtown riverfront with North 2nd Street near the Lee Bridge.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports the Richmond Planning Commission will consider the proposal at a meeting Monday.
According to the paper, the plan is to build a road to relieve traffic at North 5th and Byrd Streets, and provide a new way to get to the headquarters of Dominion Resources on Tredegar Street.
Dominion says it will partner with the city to build the road.
No design has been made yet, and there's no initial estimates of total cost of the project.
