Student pleads guilty in stolen puppy case

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Some closure came for a Henrico animal rescue group after a VCU student pleads guilty to stealing a puppy from an adoption event.

Aimee was taken from outside the Short Pump PetSmart back in May.

In court Wednesday, a judge sentenced the Charlottesville girl to six hours in lock-up and community service.

She will also have to take a shoplifting class and pay court costs.

If she completes that in three months, the petty larceny charge will be dropped.
