RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Two men will head to court Monday morning for a trial in a botched beer smashing robbery.
It happened last year at a truck stop in Caroline County.
Their trial is set to start in federal court.
This robbery is one that caught the attention of many because of the quick, and some may call heroic, actions of a customer in the convenience store.
After a delay of about two months the two men accused in this botched robbery and shooting will face a judge in court.
Surveillance video from May of last year at the shows the man police say robbed the store, Warren Brown, at the register as a customer inside of the store decided to help out.
That customer grabbed two beer bottles and smashes them on Brown's head.
That's when gunfire erupted and that customer is hit four times.
Brown ran out of the store and into the car police say was driven by Winston Oliver, the second suspect in this robbery.
The customer who took matters into his own hands survived.
Monday's hearing is set to start at 10 a.m.
