Flooding causes more road, school closures

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A dam failed on Route 60 in Providence Forge in New Kent County Friday morning.  At one point, water was 4-5 feet over the road.

New Kent County Fire Chief Billy Hicks says the water is receding but high water was a big problem on Route 60 and many secondary roads in the county early this morning. As of 8 a.m., the Route 60 was reopened to traffic.

Numerous school closings are in place today due to high water all around Central Virginia.
