Richmond city student invited to attend President Barack Obama’s congressional address

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmond Public Schools student Kelcie Fisher will join First Lady Michelle Obama as a special guest during the presidential address before a joint session of Congress scheduled tonight at 7 p.m.

Fisher, a senior at Open High School, has been a part of the Richmond Public Schools family throughout her entire educational career. Fisher is a scholar student who has embraced rigorous coursework, including Advanced Placement classes, to prepare for global, 21st century opportunities. After high school, Fisher plans to continue her education at a four-year university to earn a degree in film and French language.

Open High School is a Blue Ribbon school and has been ranked among America's best by U.S. News and World Report for four consecutive years.
