RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - September 11, 2001 is a date that changed all of our lives forever. Like me, I know you remember where you were and what you were doing the morning our country was under attack.
This Sunday at various times during the day we as Americans are being asked to observe a moment of silence to remember all that happened on that fateful day. Take a moment to think about the families and friends who lost loved ones or were touched directly by the events of the day.
Although you may not know someone personally who suffered a loss in New York, Washington or Pennsylvania, in some way you are connected to them.
But after your moment of silence do not remain silent when it comes to reminding our leaders, who are responsible for our security, that there is still much to be done in the area of emergency preparedness. Our fellow American's heroism and ultimate sacrifice should never be in vain.
