Horse euthanized after positive testing for West Nile Virus

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT)-A horse in Clarke County has been euthanized after it tested positive for Equine West Nile Virus.

The animal was put down one day after it started showing symptoms of West Nile.

The horse was vaccinated for the virus, but was due for a booster in September.

State leaders are urging horse owners to get their animals vaccinated.
