HANOVER, VA (WWBT) - Firefighters at the Hanover Fire Department Station 10 will join a number of local dignitaries to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of 9/11.
The volunteers will be dedicating a memorial at the firehouse containing a piece from the World Trade Center.
Local dignitaries such as Sen. Ryan McDougle, Delegate Christopher Peace, and Delegate Kirk Cox are expected to attend.
Volunteers will also be recognizing three local families who were affected by 9/11 and the ensuing war on terror.
Many individuals and local businesses have donated money and labor to make the memorial a reality.
The commemoration will take place on Sunday, September 11, from 2:00 p.m. to 3 p.m. at 10414 Leadbetter Road, Ashland VA.
