DINWIDDIE, VA (WWBT) - Dinwiddie County schools will not start school on Tuesday as planned, but will open Thursday after delays in getting power restored after damages from Hurricane Irene.

According to information from Dinwiddie County, two of the eight county schools just got power back on Saturday (Dinwiddie Elementary School and Dinwiddie Middle School).

Teachers have not had a chance to set up their rooms, so school will start Thursday, September 8.
