Update: Petersburg roads reopen after log truck overturns

PETERSBURG, VA (WWBT) - Roads are back open in Petersburg after a log truck overturned Sunday morning.

This happened just before 8:00 a.m. as the truck was exiting I-95 onto E. Wythe St. The truck spilled fuel and part of its cargo on the road.

At the time, E. Wythe St. was blocked from N. Adams St. to Clayton St. VDOT had also closed the exit ramp from I-95 north.

Cleanup lasted for about two hours before crews were able to get traffic flowing again. Petersburg Police says the fuel spill was less than 20 gallons.

The driver and passenger weren't injured in the accident. However, pending further investigation, the driver could face reckless driving charges.
