Charles City to delay start of school year

CHARLES CITY, VA (WWBT) - Charles City County Public Schools have announced they will delay the start of the 2011-2012 school year.

Students will now begin classes on Thursday, September 8 instead of Tuesday, September 6. However, teachers will still report to work on Tuesday, September 6.

Other public school systems have announced delayed starts too. King and Queen County Public Schools and Petersburg Public Schools will open to students on Thursday, September 8. King William County Public Schools will open for students on Wednesday, September 7.
