Explosion inside apartment building, No injuries

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - There was an explosion inside a Richmond apartment building. It happened In the 400 block of Roseneath Road, just between Stuart and Kensington Avenues.

We're told there was some type of explosion inside the building, around 7 Friday night.

It was powerful enough to partially collapse the roof and blow out a window. Amazingly, no was hurt.

Firefighters evacuated the whole block of Roseneath so they could check out the building.

One man who lives nearby heard the blast.

"It felt like I was in a war scene 'cause I kinda fell to the ground because I didn't know, you know, what was that. Just glass flying, explosions, just billowing smoke coming out of the building," said James Meekings.

Fire officials tell us they don't know what caused the explosion yet, but the building isn't safe enough for people to return to their homes.
