Dinwiddie Generals reload for 2011

DINWIDDIE, VA (WWBT) - One of the best senior classes in Dinwiddie history has moved on.  But, as the saying goes, the Generals don't rebuild, they reload.

Dinwiddie has made the playoffs in 5 of Head Coach Billy Mills's 6 seasons.  Despite being young, Mills does not expect a drop off as the Gens try to get that elusive state championship.  Last year Dinwiddie had a double-digit fourth quarter lead at home, and lost in the state semifinals to Phoebus.

Exiting are the offensive leader, QB Chris Hall, and the defensive leader, DE Corey Marshall, both to Virginia Tech.  That just leaves new leaders to step up.

Mills will rely heavily on Yoshi Monroe to anchor both the offensive and defensive line.  At receiver and in the defensive backfield, Drakar Ravell is hoping to have a breakout senior season.

The Generals are hoping to not miss a beat in the passing game as Brian Finney takes over for Hall.  Finney has had a great spring, and has his first big test early.  Dinwiddie opens Thursday against Monacan.
