RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Irene's aftermath continues to be a problem for the morning commute.
Trees and other debris are still down all over the area, and there are still a number of traffic lights out because of the power issues.
Even though drivers are supposed to treat the lights as four way stops, many are still confused, and it's leading to a number of near misses when it comes to accidents.
Police are out directing traffic at some of the major trouble spots, but they can't be everywhere with so many problems, so remember — you have to stop at traffic lights that are out and treat the intersection like a four-way stop.
With two lanes — if you reach an intersection at the same time as another driver, the driver to the right of you have the right of way, according to Chesterfield Police.
