Damage slowing driver commutes

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - The clean-up is continuing after Hurricane Irene. Road crews were out overnight cleaning some of the debris and trees out of the roads. Of course, a big concern for them is those power lines and whether or not the lines are live or not.

Many of the trees in Henrico have now been removed from the road, but there are still problems in certain areas like near Doran and New Market Road. A tree is blocking the road on Doran.

VDOT tells us they were out last night as well, cleaning things up in Chesterfield County.

Crews want to warn drivers to slow down especially in neighborhoods because these trees sneak up on you even during daylight hours.
