Blind man killed in Richmond

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The dog that belonged to an elderly blind man who was killed in Richmond is scheduled to have surgery Wednesday.

Investigators say 70-year-old Dudley Mines Jr. was walking with his guide dog on Bellevue Avenue when two separate drivers hit him.

Both drivers stopped, but apparently did not see mines beforehand.

We're told he was not in the crosswalk.
