Chesterfield firefighter remembered Monday

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Family and friends will say goodbye to a firefighter who was killed in a deadly motorcycle accident.

Firefighters at the Chesterfield station — as well as fire stations across the county — will gather with friends and family who loved 31-year-old Chris Davidson, who did so much to give back to the community.

Police say Davidson and his fiance, 38-year-old Wendy Jones, were thrown from the motorcycle they were on when they ran into a car stopped in the left lane of I-95 Thursday night.

Davidson was a volunteer firefighter in Chesterfield.

He started at the age of 16, and spent 15 years at his home fire station in Matoaca.

Davidson's viewing is scheduled for Monday night at 6 p.m. at J.T. Morris Funeral Home in Petersburg.

His funeral service is set for Tuesday morning at 11 a.m.

Jones' memorial service will take place on Wednesday.
