RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A four hour stand-off has ended peacefully in Richmond. It started around 3:00 p.m. Friday when a man barricaded himself inside a home in the 3600 block of Hermitage Road.
Police say the man was making threats against himself and others.
During the ordeal residents in that neighborhood were evacuated and kept away from their homes.
After hours of negotiating with police -- the man agreed to come out of the home.
"He's not being charged with anything criminal because he hasn't done anything criminal. He just had a bad day - he has some emotional issues that he needs help with and wants help with and we'll make sure that happens," said Gene Lepley, spokesman for the Richmond Police Department.
Police say SWAT teams were called out because the barricaded man had access to weapons inside the home.
No one was hurt during the stand-off.
