CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Some fast-acting neighbors and firefighters in Chesterfield kept a house from going up in flames after a lightning strike.
At around 2:30 p.m., lightning struck a house at the 13000 block of Steeple Chase Terrace.
No one was home at the time, but the neighbors saw what happened and immediately called 911.
Firefighters got there in four minutes and had the fire out eight minutes later.
Because everyone acted so quickly, the only damage to the house is on the roof.
