Richmond council members expected to testify

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - It's a big day in court for Richmond City leaders who are trying to get a sexual harassment lawsuit thrown out.

We could even see the city council president take the stand Wednesday.

The lawsuit has already seen plenty of fireworks in the past few months, and that's why four city council members may be taking the stand.

Jennifer Walle, the former aide to Councilman Bruce Tyler, is suing City Council President Kathy Graziano and her former aide David Hathcock.

The lawsuit could potentially cost the city $500,000.

On the potential witness list for Wednesday are the four city council members, the clerk of the city council and the city attorney.

Just a few weeks ago, Hathcock announced his retirement.

In a statement to NBC12, Hathcock said it's been an honor working for the city but, "the political climate makes it very difficult for those of us who believe in public service."

Walle claims that she was wrongfully fired over all of this.
