Charlottesville, VA (WWBT)- Matt and Jake Snyder have played football together since they were old enough to hold the pigskin. They played together throughout their youth, at Deep Run High School and now they are teammates at the University of Virginia.
Their days together are numbered, however, as Matt is entering his senior season as a Cavalier. He is unlikely to see a professional career and will play his final football in 2011. The elder Snyder appeared in all 12 games last season, starting two of them, and was the team's fourth-leading receiver. Matt posted 32.8 yards per game in 2010.
Jake is a sophomore who has moved into the starting defensive end spot. He saw some playing time during his freshman season in 2010, but this will mark the final chance he has to play on the same team with his older brother.
The Snyders and the Cavaliers will open their season on September 3 against William and Mary at Scott Stadium.
