Train hits, injures man on scooter

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A man is rushed to the hospital after being hit by a train. It happened in the 1800 block of Broad Rock Boulevard in south Richmond.

Richmond police tell NBC12, the man, who was on a scooter, went around the signal gates and tried to outrun the train when he was hit.

Witnesses tell us it looked like the man's arm was severed.

He's at the hospital right now -- his condition has not been released.

Broad Rock Boulevard near Kinsley Avenue is closed while the crash team investigates.
