RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The city has another unsolved murder - this one a cab driver robbed and beaten inside of his own home. Police say 58-year-old Peter Alisigwe was attacked so brutally, he ended up passing away from his injuries. All this happened just before Christmas last year, but police recently declared it a homicide.

It was broad daylight, just after noon on a cold December day in 2010. The 58-year-old Richmond cab driver was at home when a knock came at the door.

Detective Joseph Fultz says, two men barged in, beat Alisigwe up head to toe and basically took off with what little money he had - 35 dollars cash.

"He was able to get himself together after he had been robbed, when the guys left, he went to the neighbor's apartment and they let him use the phone," said Fultz.

Alisigwe was taken to VCU Medical Center the day of the incident. He never left the hospital. A little over a month later, he died.

"We have combed his area, and we do have some information but nothing that is concrete we can use to help us make an arrest," said Fultz.

Before Alisigwe died, he told the cops his attackers were both young, likely in their late teens, both thin and about 5 feet 7 inches tall and they were both wearing ski masks.

"We just need one person to come forward and give us some information," said Fultz.
