Bond hearing for Chesterfield murder suspect

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - The Chesterfield man facing a murder charge in the death of his girlfriend will head to court for a bond hearing Wednesday afternoon.

Chesterfield police arrested 44-year-old Adrian Branch earlier this week.

Police say he is the man who killed 38-year-old Amy White.

White and Branch are said to have been an on-and-off couple for the past four years.

The two rented a home on Mockingbird Lane.  That's where White's body was found Saturday on the back porch.

Police say Branch actually called 911 and told dispatchers she wasn't breathing.

The medical examiner says White was hit by a blunt object in the face and on the top of her head.

Branch's bond hearing is set for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon in Chesterfield.  After that he has a preliminary hearing set for September.
