Chesterfield fire crews battle house fire

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - An overnight house fire is under investigation in Chesterfield County. The fire started around 2 a.m. this morning at a home in the 2800 block of Iverson Road.

A fire official said that the fire started in attached storage shed at the back of the house. Investigators have been unable to determine the exact ignition source of the fire.

We're told when crews arrived, flames were shooting from the front, back, and side of the house.

Firefighters had to fight the fire from the roof.

The couple who lives in the home wasn't there at the time.  They are being helped by the Red Cross.

One firefighter was injured when he fell.  He is expected to be OK.
