Woman assaulted while walking alone on campus

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) – A woman walking alone on the VCU campus was the target of what police are calling a sexual assault.

It happened just after 2:00 early Saturday morning in the 1100 block of E. Clay St.

Police say the suspect attacked the woman but fled after the victim screamed.

The man was last seen running towards N. 11th St. wearing a white T-shirt, long denim shorts and blue latex gloves.

The suspect has not been apprehended and conditions may exist that pose a threat to members and visitors of this community.

VCU Police and Richmond Police have increased police patrols in this area.
