One dead, five injured after interstate accident in Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE, VA (WWBT) – Police say fatigue is to blame for a deadly crash that killed one man and injured five others.

It happened shortly after 7:00 Saturday morning on I-95 just south of the Carson exit.

Police say 60-year-old Claude Hogue was southbound on I-95 when he ran off the road and struck several trees.

Police say Hogue died at the scene.

Inside, five other passengers were injured including a 12-year-old who was flown to VCU Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The other four passengers were taken to Southside Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Police say everyone in the vehicle was wearing a safety belt. Several lanes of I-95 were closed as crews cleared the scene.
